Immigration and customs are straightforward.

For the vehicle, we took the V5C (car registration doc), passport and customs form to the back of the kiosks, at the end of the customs hangar. Forms are stamped here. Then more of the same at the front of the kiosks.

Fuel
Two types of diesel: gazole and gazole 50 (higher quality). Gazole is 0.79TD/l, Gazole 50 is 1.2TD/l –  standardised price.

Camping
Douz – Desert Club Camping
On the southern edge of town at the start of the palmerie. Friendly and well run; a spacious site shaded by palm trees; hot showers; clean toilets; washing machine; restaurant / bar; electric hook up for motor homes; 2 minute walk to shops, but the site still feels secluded from the hustle and bustle.
Cost: 5TD p/p + 4TD vehicle (4×4).

Ksar Ghilane – Campment Paradise
Next to the thermal pond and piste to Ksar Ghilane fort. Sheltered camping space next to the tented accommodation; noisy in the mornings as the quad bike and 4×4 trips get going.
Cost: 5.5TD p/p + 10.5TD vehicle (4×4).
Food: 13TD for a delicious, hearty meal; order on arrival
